Applications open for Flint & Genesee Group’s ‘Top 10 Employers’

(FLINT, Mich. – April 25, 2023) – Does your organization have a strong workplace culture? Does it offer outstanding benefits or multiple pathways for employee growth and advancement? If so, consider applying to be one of “Flint & Genesee’s Top 10 Employers.” The new program from the Flint & Genesee Group, which opened applications today, will be accepting submissions through June 6.

“This new recognition program will shine a spotlight on some of Genesee County’s top workplaces,” said Tim Herman, CEO of Flint & Genesee Group. “These are the employers who are drawing high-quality talent to Flint & Genesee and setting the bar for what makes a great place to work in our community.”

For job seekers, Herman said, the Top 10 program will serve as a map for navigating local job opportunities. For employers, it’s a recruiting tool that helps communicate their unique offering and workplace culture.

To apply, organizations should complete the form at FlintandGenesee.org/TopEmployers. Questions touch on everything from employee recognition efforts to work-life balance. Applicants should also provide three to five employee testimonials, representing a variety of levels and roles within their organization.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of local business and community leaders. Organizations selected for the Top 10 will excel in areas including, but not limited to, employee voice, professional development, physical environment, and/or work-life balance.

Nominees may be a public, private, nonprofit, or a government workplace. To be eligible, they must have at least 10 employees working in Genesee County. They must also be headquartered in Genesee County or have a significant presence in the region.

Organizations selected for the region’s first-ever Top 10 Employers program will be revealed in the September-October edition of AND, the Group’s bimonthly business magazine.

Applications are due via online submission to the Group by 5 p.m., June 6, 2023.
