“We are excited to launch into the new year with four great trainings for local professionals,” says Brianna Moiser, executive director of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent. “From social media to emotional intelligence, there is something that can fit anyone’s needs for this quarter.”

The trainings include:

Feb. 29 • 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Back by popular demand, Eric Hultgren joins us to discuss his take on what’s happening in the marketing world around us. Many people get caught up in the shiny things in marketing and forget to consider how that shiny thing is going to help them achieve their goals. In this session, you will learn how to be more intentional with your marketing approach by aligning it with this year’s current trends and the needs of your customers. Registration is $25 per attendee, lunch is included.

Building the Foundation: Diversity in the Workplace, Self-Awareness, and Implicit Bias

March 19 • 8:30-10:30 a.m.

A diverse workplace recognizes how diverse voices, inclusivity, and employee well-being are central facets of its success. To bring these values to life, it’s key that employees have a self-awareness around their own emotions and biases. There are many techniques to improve self-awareness and this training will show how your team can benefit from implementing them. This training is facilitated by Sandra Etherly-Johnson, executive director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Community Engagement at the Flint & Genesee Group and is $25 per attendee. This is a repeat offering of content from the Building the Foundation series offered in 2023. It serves as a precursor to part two of the original series, coming later this year.

Tapping Into Your Emotional Intelligence

March 27 • 8:30-9:30 a.m.

During this workshop, we’ll learn more about the core skills of Emotional Intelligence (EQi) and their relevance to motivation, leadership, and effective relationships. Through group work and open dialogue, we’ll dive deeper into our personal strengths and blind spots, and their application in the workplace. This training is facilitated by Julie Bellamy from Sequelle HR Suite and is $15 per attendee.
