The Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Flint has added board-certified oncologist Dr. Jeffrey Hotaling to their staff. Hotaling completed his fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction at Thomas Jefferson University in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Nida Khalid, who practices obstetrics and gynecology, has joined the staff of McLaren Flint. Khalid completed her residency at Hurley Medical Center in Flint and holds a medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan.

The McLaren Proton Therapy Center has welcomed board-certified, Radiation Oncologist Dr. Moaaz Soliman to their team. Soliman completed his residency at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and holds a medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor.

Dr. Omari Young

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint has appointed Dr. Omari Young to their Board of Trustees.  Young is a faculty physician with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hurley Medical Center in Flint.  Young also serves as program director for the Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology and assistant professor at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Dort Financial Credit Union has acquired Florida’s Flagler Bank. This acquisition expands Dort Financial Credit Union’s reach to two states and 15 locations with assets over $2 billion.

McAlister’s Deli has opened a new location in Grand Blanc. This is the second location for the restaurant in the county, with one in Flint Township, too.

Cupcakes and Kisses has opened in Grand Blanc. The bakeshop specializes in cookies, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, cakes, and cheesecakes. It has other storefronts in Holly, St. Johns, and Owosso.

The former Grand Blanc Inn will soon become Billy Bob’s Country Market. The new market will offer Marathon gas and a selection of groceries. It is scheduled to open in May.
