Now Playing: A Guide to Flint & Genesee’s Fall Theater Line-Up

Flint’s fall theater season is in full swing. From professional shows to community productions, there is something here for everyone. Here are some of the shows you can catch this fall.

Flint Repertory Theater

This Fall, the Flint Youth Theater expanded their programming and transformed into the Flint Repertory Theater. The professional theater group’s new season features a Signature Series of world premiere plays and musicals, and bold new interpretations of theatrical classics for adults. For the rest of the family, the Theater for Young Audience Series will feature shows for the entire family.

Now playing in the Signature Series is “The Boatman,” a dark comedy by Alex Moggridge, September 28 – October 7.

The University of Michigan-Flint Department of Theater and Dance

UM-Flint’s Department of Theater and Dance provides students with a challenging education environment and richly diverse learning experiences. The department is kicking off its season with “Peter and the Starcatcher,” a transformative take on the story of Peter Pan, October 26 – November 11.

Clio Cast and Crew

The community theater based in Clio is kicking off its season with “Who’s in Bed with the Butler,” a comedy by Michael Parker, September 28 – October 7.

Fenton Village Players

For the fall, Fenton Village Players will perform “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” September 27 – October 7 and “Sylvia,” October 26 – 28.

Flint Community Players

Flint’s community theater since 1929 is performing the late Neil Simon’s classic “Barefoot in the Park,” November 8 – 18.

The Whiting

Hosting a variety of shows throughout the year, the Whiting kicks off its Broadway shows this season with “Peter Pan: A 3D Stage Spectacular,” October 12 & 13.
