YouthQuest Hosts Golf Event at IMA Brookwood

PGA of America Supports Event for Students, Parents

(FLINT, MICH.) A future Tiger Woods or Michelle Wie may be among the hundreds of students set to hit the green for the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce YouthQuest afterschool program student and family Golf Event.  The event takes place on Saturday, May 4 at IMA Brookwood Golf Club from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

PGA of America will provide support for the event, which will feature golf lessons, a scavenger hunt and a fit and fun zone where students can participate in an obstacle course and games.  Lunch will include a Trick Shot Show by former golf professional Dennis Walter.

Rhetta Hunyady, Vice President of Education and Training for the Chamber says this celebration is a great way for students and their families to get active and learn about the game of golf.

“YouthQuest students participate in enrichment activities throughout the year,” said Hunyady.  “This golf event provides a great opportunity for the students to enjoy a morning of fun activities while honing their golfing skills.  We truly appreciate partnering with PGA of America and IMA Brookwood to bring golfing fun to our families.  The golf lessons provided by IMA Golf Pro Joe Simpson at each of the YouthQuest sites throughout the year also provided an introduction to the sport for students.”
YouthQuest reaches more than 2,000 K-8 students at 15 school-based sites in Flint and Genesee County.
