TeenQuest Seeks Participants for Summer Pre-Employment Training

The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce TeenQuest program is offering no-cost pre-employment and leadership training to Genesee County high school students ages 14-18.  Applications are currently being accepted for the program.

The TeenQuest summer program is a four-week program designed to help Genesee County youth prepare for success in the future.  The program starts on July 9 and concludes on August 2.  Through TeenQuest students learn the basics of teamwork, business etiquette, work ethics, communication, goal setting and conflict resolution.  The program is also a pre-requisite for employment through the Summer Youth Initiative (SYI), which matches employers with TeenQuest graduates for summer employment.

Rhetta Hunyady, Regional Chamber Vice President of Employer Education and Training Connection says the employment opportunities available to TeenQuest graduates are one of many ways that students benefit from the program.

“TeenQuest graduates learn how to be leaders,” said Hunyady.  “The training provides critical skills needed for success in the workplace and in life.”
