The following statement is in response to an incident that occurred in 2015 with a student who attended YouthQuest that has now resulted in a disability-related discrimination allegation against the afterschool program.
The safety of our YouthQuest students and staff is a top priority. For more than eight years, YouthQuest has provided nearly 2,000 students annually with high quality academic and enrichment programming in a safe and caring environment. Our staff is highly trained in the delivery of the program curriculum and they are capable of handling a variety of student needs. What happened with our student in 2015 is very unfortunate and we take this very seriously. It’s also important to note that the Complaint that YouthQuest was in violation of the American Disabilities Act is unfounded. We will work vigorously to defend our afterschool program.
