Regional Chamber Selected to Promote Tourism

Expands Marketing of Flint-Genesee County Brand

The Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce has been tapped to lead tourism efforts in Flint-Genesee County, significantly increasing its involvement in shaping the image of the region, and inspiring travelers to visit.

Tim Herman, CEO of the Regional Chamber says that he and his staff are excited about the new responsibility and have hit the ground running.

“We have demonstrated success for many years at promoting the region to businesses and investors,” Herman adds. “Marketing the region as a travel destination is a natural evolution of our messaging and a good fit for our skill set.  In addition, one of our core strengths is forming strategic partnerships. This will play an important role in our tourism strategy as we forge cross-county collaboration with a variety of organizations.”

Janice Karcher, Vice President of Economic Development for the Regional Chamber says the branding of Flint-Genesee County and the addition of the Flint & Genesee Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau (Regional Chamber CVB) further enhances the economic appeal of the region.

“The welcome mat is out for growth in the region and the new Regional Chamber CVB will assist in marketing our assets,” said Karcher.  “This is a great time to do business in Flint and Genesee County.  We are definitely building momentum as a region.”
