Help End Alzheimer’s During Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month and the Alzheimer’s Association® is asking you to get involved and raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Everyone who has a brain is at risk to develop Alzheimer’s, a disease that is often misunderstood. Alzheimer’s is fatal and kills more than breast and prostate cancer combined. It also is not a part of normal aging and involves more than memory loss – it appears through a variety of signs and symptoms.

During the month of June, the Alzheimer’s Association asks you to learn more about the disease, share your story and take action.

At your business:

  • Go purple — the color of Alzheimer’s awareness – by encouraging employees to dress in purple on a specific day
  • If you own a storefront, decorate the front windows with purple clothing or other merchandise
  • If you have a restaurant or market, feature purple merchandise or dishes and beverages
  • Participate in The Longest Day on June 21. For more information and to sign up or donate, visit www.alz.org/thelongestday (#TheLongestDay)

Take pictures of these activities and share them, along with messages of your support, on your social media accounts (use the hashtag #ENDALZ) and websites, as well as in your newsletters or e-blasts.
