(FLINT, Mich., February 5, 2018) – The Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the continuation of its Speakers Bureau. A service to area organizations, Chamber executives and staff are available to speak on a variety of subjects at no cost.
In 2017, the Chamber saw a significant increase of 35 percent in speaking engagements compared to 2016. The increase was due in part to the high interest in economic development in the region and how it affects the local economy, business climate and placemaking – one of our newest topics of discussion. It is also due in part to the flexibility the Chamber has in the format of speaking engagements, which includes face-to-face formal and informal engagements, and digital formats such as video conferencing.
The service is ideal for non-profit, professional services, education, business and civic organizations, said Elizabeth Murphy, Chief Operating Officer of the Chamber.
“The Speakers Bureau is a great resource for groups looking to learn more about the reinvention and revitalization of Flint and Genesee County,” Murphy said. “With the various services that the chamber provides to the community, our employees have great insight on a number of topics.”

- Youth education & training
- Professional development
- Business and community engagement
- Business networking and events
- Government contracting
- Placemaking
Murphy added: “These talks are also ideal for organizations looking to learn more about what the Chamber does and how it impacts the area’s business climate, economic growth and engagement in the community.”
Since the program launched in 2012, Chamber leadership and staff have addressed hundreds of organizations during meetings at chambers, schools, and service and community organizations.
