Flint & Genesee is home to a thriving music scene. Home to music venues like the Machine Shop and the Flint Local 432 bringing bands from around the state and across the country and the newly reopened Capitol Theatre set to bring rock and hip-hop acts to the city. Famous artists have roots in Flint: Grand Funk Railroad, Jon Connor, to name a few. Music culture is alive and well in Flint & Genesee, and you can be part of that culture by taking in the music and these local restaurants and bars.

Check out Beale Street Smokehouse in Fenton. Every Friday and Saturday, the BBQ restaurant named after the famous street in Memphis, TN, features local blues artists. Enjoy its famous BBQ while you take in the local blues scene.

Check out Soggy Bottom Bar. Every Tuesday night, the Carriage Town bar hosts Jazz Night. Great musicians from the area entertain a packed crowd each week. Delicious food, a large beer selection and award-winning cocktails are a great draw as well.

If you like acoustic songs:

Check out Tenacity Brewing. This local brewery hosts live acoustic music in their taproom each weekend. You can listen to great local artists while you enjoy a craft beer or cider.

If you enjoy piano bars:

Check out Brick Street of Grand Blanc. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Brick Street hosts live entertainment with Bob Adado. Come out for a comfortable, sing-along atmosphere and great food and drinks.
