Calling Flint & Genesee Business and Community Leaders: Applications Opening for Leadership Flint & Genesee

Local leaders encouraged to attend information session for premier leadership program in Genesee County 

(Flint, Mich., 5/19/2025) – With the 2024/2025 cohort graduating eight local leaders, informational sessions for the 2025/2026 cohort of Leadership Flint & Genesee start in late May.  

The program – a leadership development series facilitated by Flint & Genesee Education & Talent – has graduated hundreds of local leaders, many in important leadership roles in the Flint & Genesee community, like Claudnyse Holloman, President of Voices for Children Child Advocacy Center, and Michael Czop, president of Domico Med-Device.  

“We have seen leaders in both the for- and non-profit sectors learn and grow through our program,” says Brianna Mosier, executive director of Education & Talent, a division of the Flint & Genesee Group. “Leadership Flint & Genesee is an amazing program for those who are just taking on leadership or manager roles that have potential for significant growth.” 

The program runs from September to May and is crafted for individuals with a drive to enhance their leadership effectiveness, offering a skills-based approach that allows participants to bolster their strengths through dynamic learning experiences. Outside of monthly, day-long cohort meetings, participants also have one-on-one meetings with leadership mentors to help hone their skills and improve their success. 

As part of Leadership Flint & Genesee, participants complete the Leadership Effectiveness Analysis™ (LEA) assessment. This assessment provides feedback in six leadership functions: team playing, creating a vision, developing followership, implementing the vision, following through, and achieving results. The feedback is the basis for the individual growth that participants will achieve throughout the nine-month program.  

To be eligible to complete the program, leaders must have two years of professional experience, have approval from their employer, complete the application, be able to commit to 90% attendance of the program, and attend one of the Leadership Flint & Genesee Information sessions. Sessions will be held May 28 and June 5 via Zoom.  

Another key aspect of the program is a community impact project that leaders complete together. This helps demonstrate the skills they’ve learned throughout the program and gives back to the community in turn. Projects in the past have included creating community gardens and installing little free libraries as well as creating marketing plans and structuring professional development opportunities for local nonprofits.
