YouthQuest Students to Celebrate at End of Year Festival

(FLINT, MICH. – May 20, 2014) YouthQuest students will soon celebrate the end of the year at a festival of arts, games and sports. On Thursday, May 22, at New Creation Church of God Activity Center, hundreds of students will gather to participate in a multitude of activities, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Students from YouthQuest school sites across Genesee County will have an amazing experience as Circus Amongues professionals teach circus arts – juggling, movement and balancing – in a safe, fun-filled and educational environment.  Activities include Kids Cirques with tight wire, balancing on barrels, globes and bikes, sack races and student performances.

The festival will also include a Photo Booth and sports such as soccer, baseball, bowling, basketball and horse shoes. In addition, students will visit the “decade’s tents” to learn interesting facts about each decade, from the 1920s up through the 2000s.

“There’s something for everyone at the year-end festival,” said Rhetta Hunyady, Vice President of Education & Training at the Flint & Genesee Chamber. “The activities will stimulate their imagination and allow them to have great fun as we close out the school year.”

YouthQuest is a free, afterschool program that reaches more than 1,500 K-8 students at 12 school-based sites in Flint and Genesee County; and is managed by the Flint & Genesee Chamber.
