The Run or Dye Colorstorm is Coming to Downtown Flint

Run Or Dye logo(FLINT, Mich., April 8, 2014) — The Colorstorm is coming! The Flint & Genesee Convention & Visitors Bureau (FGCVB) is bringing a “Run or Dye 5K” event to downtown Flint Sunday, June 8. Early registration has already started with over 1,500 registered in the first week. To register visit: http://www.runordye.com/locations/Flint

Run or Dye is billed as the “World’s Most Colorful 5K.” Run or Dye events give participants a chance to have a color-filled, fun day with family and friends by becoming part of the rainbow as they run/walk/dance through the race course.

“Runners and walkers will get showered in safe, eco-friendly, plant-based powdered dye at stations along the route, turning them into 3-D Technicolor canvases,” said Cheryl DeFrain, Director of the Flint & Genesee Convention and Visitors Bureau (FGCVB).

The Flint Run or Dye course begins on the campus of UM-Flint and travels through the Cultural Center and Mott Community College campus before returning to downtown Flint for the colorstorm at the Finish Festival!  Participants jam out as they count down to the moment when everyone gets to “Tie-Dye the Sky” with a color packet to share a bit of the rainbow with your friends, family, and everyone else.

Run or dye is for everyone. Participants are welcome to walk, run, dance, or skip their way to the finish line.  And Run or Dye is family-friendly — kids 6 and under run FREE!

At Run or Dye, participants are the canvas. Lots of runners prefer wearing white to show off all the color, but many come dressed in crazy costumes, like an old wedding dress, pirate outfit, or leopard print pajamas.  While the dye is designed to be washable, it is recommended that participants wear something they don’t mind getting a little colorful.
