As part of the Moving Flint Forward Small Business Grant Program, each grantee must work with a local nonprofit organization, either through volunteering, coordinating a service project or providing a service pro bono.
“We thought about the overwhelming need these agencies have been experiencing in recent weeks,” says Fletcher Rheaves, president and CEO of Great Lakes Facilities Management. “The question was, ‘How could we help those who have helped so many in need of resources?’ In response to COVID-19, we felt a need to help with the doctors, nurses and children’s safety.”
At Whaley, the full-service janitorial building maintenance company disinfected the organization’s activity center and clinic earlier this month. Additionally, the business donated the bulk of its protective gear supply to the health care workers at Hurley.
