Sherry Tompkins has been named Marketing Director at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. In her new capacity Ms. Tompkins will plan and implement the various marketing initiatives of the Regional Chamber including advertising, promotions, merchandising and research.
“Sherry is a great match for the Regional Chamber, said CEO Tim Herman. “Her extensive background in nonprofit and for profit organizations uniquely positions her for the important marketing work we accomplish for our organization and the community.”
Ms. Tompkins fills a vacancy created by restructuring of assignments.
Prior to joining the Regional Chamber Ms. Tompkins served as Vice President of Marketing and Media Relations for Instream Financial, LLC, a firm that specialized in supply chain finance for automotive suppliers and original equipment manufacturers. She also served as Director of Marketing Communications for the Michigan State University College of Medicine. She served in similar positions at Meredith College and Duke University Health System in North Carolina. She has extensive advertising agency experience as well.
Ms. Tompkins earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University North Carolina and is a graduate of the Strategic Brand Management Program at the Kenan-Flager School of Business, University of North Carolina.
