Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce Recognized by MEDA for Best Print Marketing Materials and Best Website

(FLINT, Mich. – Sept. 9, 2011) The Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce announced today that the organization has been selected as a winner in the Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) 6th Annual MEDA Marketing Materials Competition for “Best Print Marketing Materials” (Population: 100,001 – 500,000) and “Best Website” (Population: 100,001 – 500,000). The awards were presented during MEDA’s Annual Meeting at the Aug. 25 Awards Banquet.

“We’re very proud to be recognized by MEDA,” said Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce.  “Over the past year, our team has worked on a new marketing campaign that includes a major overhaul of our website, print materials, TV spots and billboards. So the awards come just in time as confirmation that we are heading in the right direction.”

MEDA sponsors the annual competition of local economic development marketing materials to provide an opportunity for Michigan’s economic development organizations to have professional marketing firms independently review their marketing materials and give MEDA members a chance to review materials from other practitioners around the state. Submissions were categorized by the size of the community represented by the economic development organization. Categories for submission included print marketing materials, websites and e-newsletters.

MEDA’s panel of judges lauded the Regional Chamber’s marketing materials and website, giving them top scores based on creativity, graphic design and content.

“The Regional Chamber’s website has very good top-level navigation, reaching out specifically to the kinds of prospects who might visit the site” said Sharlan Douglas, APR of Douglas Communications. “Additionally, the site has excellent content. It’s upbeat and well-balanced. We also liked that, when you scroll over the top images, you see a statistic or promotional message.”

According to the staff of AMPM, Inc. the Regional Chamber‘s print materials are “visually appealing, consistent with the branding and use pleasant colors.”
