Flint Township Restaurant ‘Beef and Barley’ Plans Grand Opening Celebration

(FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – February 20, 2014)  The hottest new menu in town can be found in the newly renovated space at 2055 S. Linden Rd.  Beef and Barley quietly opened its doors for business in December after a four-month renovation completely remodeled every surface of the 6,000 square foot building.  With the usual new restaurant jitters handled and behind them, Beef and Barley is now planning a Grand Opening event scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 10:00 a.m.

“Congratulations to the Saab family and their partners on giving the Flint & Genesee community a great new dining option,” said Tim Herman, Chamber CEO. “The continued growth of our region is dependent on entrepreneurs who are willing to open a new establishment utilizing local vendors and artists.  I am pleased to welcome Beef and Barley to the local restaurant scene.”

Beef and Barley is a new concept developed by owners Najib Saab and Ghassan K. Saab.   The menu is extensive and unique, and offers all of your favorite American dishes prepared in ways you likely haven’t seen before, as well as 16 taps of craft beer.  The most popular items so far have been the Chicken and Waffles entree, the Philly Steak and Cheese sandwich and the Southwestern Spring Rolls appetizer.  The restaurant also offers four cuts of steak (Filet Mignon, Rib Eye, NY Strip and Sirloin) that are served with one of seven house-made sauces and specialty butters.  The port wine mushroom sauce has been the top pick so far, with green peppercorn cream sauce not far behind.

Beef and Barley considers itself a “scratch kitchen”, as the majority of food served is made in-house.  The table rolls and pizza crusts are baked fresh daily.  The four soups (French Onion, Lobster Bisque, New England clam chowder and Beef and Barley) are made each morning.  The steaks and fries are hand-cut and the burger patties are hand-formed.

“We believe the personal care and imagination that we put into every dish shows in the final product,” said Ghassan Saab. “Based on the feedback that we have received, I’m proud to say our customers agree.”

The Grand Opening event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, soft drinks and appetizers provided by Beef and Barley. The restaurant is located in the former Ruggero’s restaurant at 2055 S. Linden Road in the Lincor Park Shopping Center.
