Employee Training Funds Available from MichiganWORKS! and Mott CC

Training funds are now available for Flint and Genesee County businesses.  The Michigan Workforce Development Agency Skilled Trades Training fund and Michigan WORKS! have funding available to help Genesee County businesses train their employees.  The Michigan New Jobs Training Program offers funding through Mott Community College (MCC) for businesses hiring new employees.

Both funding sources are available to businesses.  Through MCC employers in the region must create new jobs that pay at least 175 percent of minimum wage, which currently equates to $12.95 per hour.  Eligible positions must not have existed 12 months prior.

The MichiganWORKS! Skilled Trades Training program is available to qualifying businesses to fill a documented talent need and must lead to full-time employment or continued employment.
