Job & Resource Fair Business Application

Business/Vendor Application

Is your business seeking entry-level employees? The Flint & Genesee Chamber’s Job & Resource Fair will connect you with qualified Genesee County young adults who are TeenQuest/Summer Youth Initiative (SYI) alumni, as well as Career Edge participants ages 18 and older. Meet some of the 2,500+ TeenQuest/SYI alumni who have completed pre-employment leadership training and been employed with area non-profits in the summer months. Talk with Career Edge applicants that attended a four-part series of employment-readiness workshops and are eager to test their newly developed skills.

Companies also have an opportunity to apply for matching funds* to offset one-half of the first 90 days of employment costs incurred by hiring applicants who are alumni of TeenQuest or Career Edge. This is a limited resource based on available grant support.

The Job & Resource Fair is being held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Genesee Valley Center, 3341 S. Linden Rd., Flint, and is open to the public. Vendors will also be on-site providing information and supportive services to job-seekers. An estimated 300-400 job-seekers are expected to attend.

Applicants will be invited to interview with companies based on mutual interests and available opportunities. They are asked to bring several copies of their resumes to share with employers. Resumes will also be collected and routed to companies.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the FGCC 2020 Job Fair Business Application by Friday, May 1, 2020 to confirm your participation. The Job & Resource Fair will be May 14, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Genesee Valley Center. Form available soon.

*If seeking matching funds, employers would need to:

  • Hire an alumni of the Chamber’s TeenQuest or Career Edge programs
  • Submit payroll verification with a reimbursement request to the FGCC on a bi-weekly basis during the first ninety (90) days of employment
  • Notify FGCC if an employee is terminated and provide the reason for termination
  • Agree to site visits by FGCC representatives to observe alumni at your worksite(s)
