Community Ventures Offers Opportunities for Employers, Long-term Unemployed

The Chamber is working with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to promote the Community Ventures program to Flint employers and unemployed residents.  The program aims to help long-term unemployed individuals pursue career opportunities at Michigan companies.  Supportive resources and talent match services are available to employers and to assist job seekers with a career pathway.

Employers who hire eligible applicants for long-term, full-time positions are eligible for $5,000 to assist with employment costs.  Job seekers who fit the eligibility criteria include those who are long-term unemployed, at-risk youth, ex-offenders and low-income individuals.

To learn more about Community Ventures contact the MEDC at (517) 373-9808 or email .
