Business Development Manager named at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce

Dale Benish has been named Business Development Manager at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. In his new capacity Mr. Benish will work with business investment prospects ensuring that appropriate community resources and support are available to support their business objectives.

“Dale brings the experience and background needed to fill this very important role at the Regional Chamber,” said CEO Tim Herman. “One of our critical responsibilities is making sure that every qualified investor receives the very best service from our organization. I’m confident that Dale will provide the quality service required to be successful.”

Mr. Benish fills a vacancy created by an employee retirement. Prior to joining the Regional Chamber Mr. Benish was the Executive Director of the Sanilac Economic Alliance, Inc. in Sandusky, Michigan. In that capacity he attracted 17 new businesses that created 1,200 jobs and more than $33 million in investment over a nine-year period. He also assisted 30+ businesses with start-ups and expansions that created 390 jobs, retained 800 jobs and brought investment to the community that exceeded $55 million.

Mr. Benish worked as a Business Development Coordinator in Huron County and has served as the Director of Parks and Recreation in Bad Axe and Caro, Michigan. He has also served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority in Bad Axe and as an Administrative Assistant for Public Services in Big Rapids, Michigan.

He earned an associate’s degree in accounting from Delta College, University Center, Michigan. He continued course work in accounting at Ferris State University and public administration at Saginaw Valley University. He anticipates completion of his degree in 2012.
