The Region 6 Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) helps prepare local businesses to win government contracts on the local, state and federal level. It has two programs coming up in May for businesses interested in government contracting.

PTAC’s Certification Series resumes May 10 with the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) program. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The program runs from 9-10 a.m. at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, 519 S. Saginaw St., in Flint. Register Now.

“This is designed to help small businesses understand the ins and outs of the Federal Supply Schedule process,” said PTAC Director Stacy Betts. “We can help clients navigate the maze of questions and information required to compete for these contracts.”

On May 24, PTAC will host the Growing Your Business with Government Contracting workshop from 8:30-10 a.m. The workshop, also held at the Chamber’s office, will provide an overview of contracting opportunities at the local, state and federal levels, and the requirements for bidding. Register Now.

In June, PTAC will partner with the Michigan Small Business Development (SBDC) and the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) to host a workshop on doing business with the City of Flint and Genesee County.
