Katharine Roat Stevens funds
Since 2008, the Katharine Roat Stevens Education and Training Fund and the Katharine Roat Stevens Scholarship Fund have been awarded annually. Ms. Stevens was a local entrepreneur, and the funds were created in her memory at the Community Foundation of Greater Flint by the Flint Chamber Foundation (now the Genesee Chamber Foundation) in 1993.
The Katharine Roat Stevens Education and Training Fundsupports education and training opportunities for low income women living in Genesee County with entrepreneurial aspirations. The Education and Training Fund award in the amount of up to $1,000 will be used in college, vocational or recognized business-related training.
The Katharine Roat Stevens Scholarship Fund is an annual scholarship awarded to female high school seniors graduating from Genesee County schools who meet specific criteria. The deadline for the Katharine Roat Stevens Scholarship Fund is March 1st.
Each year, Cleary University awards $1,200 scholarships to five members of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. The scholarship is provided to Chamber business members, including:
- An employee of the Chamber member business
- An immediate family member of the Chamber member business
The scholarship may be applied for on an annual basis as long as scholarship criteria and general admission are met. Cleary University also has financial aid opportunities available to those who qualify.
Cleary University is an independent, not-for-profit university that offers a number of Bachelor of Business Administration degrees at its Flint location on the Mott Community College campus. Also available are Masters of Business Administration online degrees.
